When Mistress Bunny learns that one of her clients was found dead in his office, she suspects that his alleged suicide was actually murder. Her investigation uncovers a string of murders staged to look like "suicides". Along the way, she is hounded by a drunk ex-boyfriend, a pissed-off widow, and an office assistant with a hidden agenda.
There's a contest in every issue of Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. I have no idea how long it's been running. Basically, they'll print a photograph and ask their readers to write a story about it. The story needs to be less than 250 words and it needs to involve a crime. In the March/April 2017 issue, they posted a photograph of somebody climbing a mountain. My story about that mysterious ascent, "Five Secrets to Success," won the contest and is published in the July/August 2017 issue. Check it out.
I'm currently a regular participant at the Bad Grammar (Chicago) reading series, the Gumbo Fiction Salon (Chicago), the No Shush Salon (Oak Park), and the Tamale Hut Cafe (North Riverside) reading series.
